TICKET GIVEAWAY QUESTION-OF-THE-DAY for Sunday, June 14

.
Today’s question asks you to name a musician who was very important to the early career of EMMYLOU HARRIS, one of the three women artist stars of the “THREE GIRLS AND THEIR BUDDY” concert at the Greek Theatre, for which you may win a pair of tickets for Wednesday, June 24, 2009. (The show stars EMMYLOU HARRIS, PATTY GRIFFIN, SHAWN COLVIN, & BUDDY MILLER.)
.
Here it is (get ready to work the web search engines!):
.
Emmylou Harris was discovered in 1971 by Chris Hillman and Rick Roberts when Hillman brought another notable musician to hear her sing in a small club in the Washington D.C. area. That musician is often mistakenly identified as the one who “discovered” Emmylou. In fact, it wasn’t until 1973 (some sources say 1972) that Emmylou received an airline ticket from that musician to join him in Los Angeles to work on his first solo album, and later join his band, formed to tour in support of the record. Within months, he was dead. After his death, Emmylou retained many of the members of his band and many of the session musicians from that album to form her own legendary "Hot Band." Phil Kaufman has said of that deceased musician, "He told her always to pay for the best and she'd play with the best."
