Back to the sudden cancellation of a much-anticipated show.
So, what’s it all about, Alfie?
.
Coffee Gallery Backstage impresario and Folk Alliance FAR West Ambassador Award honoree Bob Stane says, “Under the title of ‘Not tonight, dear,’ I have to sadly announce I just got word that TIM ERIKSEN's plane never left the ground. I don't think it was weather problems but maybe mechanical issues or terror inspections. He tried several connections but could not get into LAX before 9 pm. He had no other gig in Southern California and was coming to our area just to play The Coffee Gallery Backstage, as do so many other acts.
+
“We got great publicity on The Internet and in 3 newspapers so all of that wonderful coverage is wasted. Pity. We have good things for the rest of the week so I hope you can attend. We need you and we are having great fun.
+
”So he had to cancel and go San Francisco directly. If you had reservations for tonight's show, don't come. You need not phone and cancel, just don't show up. This is costly and inconvenient for all of us but let's look at the bright side.... we don't live on the Eastern Seaboard. Our winters do not interact with snow and ice. We do not have to fly to get to Southern California. Thank you.”
