Oh, decisions, decisions, whether to fulfill one's civic duty (and gain insight about what two alternate futures might hold) or just chuck the blah-blah-blah and go enjoy some live music tonight.
.
No worry. If you're in the Pacific time zone, you can do both. The debate will be broadcast live on all the networks, on all the cable news channels, on C-SPAN, and on the web, LIVE from 6-7:30 pm. That allows time to get to a music venue after the debate, and escape the blah-blah-blah of TV's talking heads telling you what you just saw.
.
If you attend a show at a venue that has free wifi, like the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, you can catch the debate on your laptop, over coffee and cheesecake, and then decompress at the concert (at CGB, it's Swedish guitar champion JOHANNES MOLLAR, in a rare US small-venue performance, with an opening set by LeChic Duo, at 8 pm).
.
There are PLENTY of good live performances, all over town -- just check the Guide's abundant listings and descriptions!
.
Alternate plan? The debate repeats at 10 pm on MSNBC and POX, and at 9 pm and midnight on CNN. Most convenient of all, it repeats on C-SPAN at 11 pm. (All times are Pacific Daylight.)
.
Now, make your music plans! You can responsibly absolve yourself of that impending guilt!

Much more coming soon. Meantime, a good preview of this weekend's FESTIVALS and tonight's live music scene are in the edition before last, available just below or in the sidebar at left, depending on where you are reading this.
