Wenceslaus 2012
.
Old King Wenceslaus pigged-out
What a feast he’d eaten
He consumed so much
That there was nothing left for Steven
Now he wants a stomach pump
Pepto and antacids
He’d have been alright until
That last barrel of molasses.
.
He ate sweet potato pie
Tomato macaroni
A sliced ham simply vanished
Like Pacific abalone
We passed him the cornbread and
Green beans with French-friend onions
His stomach walked through so much food
His tonsils must have bunions.
.
Now he lies back glassy-eyed
Proclaiming midst his low moans
If we give him any more
Surely he will explode
Did he eat the spoons and forks
The silver and the sterling?
Somehow he did it all without
The need to keep from hurling.

Grabbed my geetar and played for the dinner guests, especially that one who needed to hear it. GUFFAW!!!
ReplyDeleteClever. Some fun lyrics.
ReplyDeleteHope I wasn't that dinner guest. Guess I'll find out if Giselle and Ed play this song for me tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Makes me feel better about the glutton who did that here last year. Might even invite him again next year so I can write a song!
ReplyDeleteYou musta peeked. That happened to my dinner. Not even any turkey sandwich leftovers and that is just ridiculous. - Val
