We note that NONE of the “religious” channels are airing the benefit. Looks like they’re afraid their viewers might contribute to hurricane victims, and dilute their take from fleecing their flocks. So much for being your brother’s keeper. Merry Christmas and pass the collection plate.

There are NO broadcast channels airing it at 7:30 pm in Los Angeles. You need cable. Many websites carried it live at 4:30 pm (PST) but no web site we can find is doing a 7:30 pm delay, possibly since the concert is still happening live until 9 pm Pacific. Still, the tape-delay is good news for those who were still at work at 4:30 pm.

+
Deemed “avant sonic acrobats” by the L.A. Weekly, Dúo del Sol’s music sparkles with kinetic energy. Their expansive style can be compared to the likes of Radiohead while their raw energy conjures up the spirits of Reinhardt and Grappelli. Based in Los Angeles, violinist Javier Orman (Montevideo, Uruguay) and guitarist Tom Farrell (Chicago, Illinois) excite audiences and bring energy and passion to the stage with their original music.
+
Their first album, “Mirá,” a five-track EP, has critics praising it as “seat of the pants playing, confident enough to take risks” with “compositions that live in the land of exceptional genius.” Available on iTunes and Bandcamp.
+
Uruguayan violinist Javier Orman carries with him a diverse array of influences, from J.S. Bach to Thom Yorke to Horace Silver. He has toured with Entropy Ensemble, a hybrid chamber/jazz group that routinely shuffles forward-driven rock'n'roll, jazzed-up reggae and minimalism, all while re-interpreting Radiohead, and performed throughout Latin America with his Terranova Piano Trio. In 2009, he founded Kidzymphony, an orchestral program for young children in Charleston, South Carolina, that continues to nurture 50 children in music each year.
+
Guitarist Tom Farrell strides effortlessly across the worlds of Classical, Contemporary and music of the globe.
