+
RESTLESS HILLFILLIES were voted #1 Folk /Bluegrass band in the 2012 VC Music Awards. It’s folk and bluegrass music with a tale to tell. With years of research and oral interviews of pioneer families and local historians in an historical preservation project called Turn Back the Pages, Ventura County songwriters have penned a slew of wonderful songs. A fine article about the history songs can be read online in the VC Star. Bustin’ out of the stalls are seasoned Americana musicians: Mary Z. Wilson, Rosie Tower, Karen Orser, Barney Tower, and Dan Wilson. You’ll get your toes a-tappin’ with a smile in your heart. More at www.restlesshillfillies.com

ROBBY LONGLEY, aka Robert Earl Longley, is also known as ‘Robby’ by his friends and fans. He is a world-class guitarist and orchestral composer. His original compositions include nine of his own CD’s and four theatrical films, one of which was a live, improvisational performance. Robby’s concert material is a presentation of masterfully executed finger-style techniques on the flamenco guitar. In the beginning, Robby played in rock bands throughout high school. Later, he briefly switched to the folk music circuit and eventually toured in a band, performing top 40 tunes on electric guitar. Remembering his childhood, these influences turned into his own finger style technique and sound. In 1990, he picked up the flamenco guitar, entered eight local guitar competitions in LA and within a two years period, took first place honors in all eight! Robby has appeared on the Jay Leno Show, Latin Grammy Awards, Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Show to a crowd of 7,500, which, according to show producer Ian Seeberg, he receiving two standing ovations! By invitation, he has played for famed classical guitarist Christopher Parkening. Robby has performed at Fireside for over 13 years – they are pleased to once again present this highly talented guitar virtuoso.

KEN O’MALLEY: As a solo artist, Ken O’Malley easily commands the room; Quickly drawing the audience in, it is no wonder that the Irish News describes him “without question, as the single most enduring, influential and proficient of all Irish musicians in Southern California” and the University of St. Thomas at Houston acknowledges him to be "widely regarded as the finest Irish folk singer/songwriter in the United States today." In Dublin at the age of 15, he opened for legendary balladeer Paddy Reilly at the equally legendary Old Sheiling Pub. His fluency in the Gaelic language was earned from his education by the Christian Brothers and his summers in the West of Ireland. A true ambassador of Irish culture, he infuses every performance with the rich history of his native land and audiences quickly become engaged with his compelling stories. One show producer put it this way: “He holds nothing back. Whether singing a passionate ballad, playing a solo on the mandolin, or explaining the gloriously sad history of Erin his homeland, Ken O’Malley is all-in, wide open to the world, and as true as an arrow’s flight.” Another simply stated that “Ken O'Malley connected with our audience in a way none of our other artists have.” More at www.kenomalley.com
