"We are back from our whirlwind month of travel! Little did we know when we left on our West Coast House Concert Tour that we'd end up performing in China, but that's just what happened!

"We took along Marty Rifkin, and the Andy and Renee show packed up and went to Beijing on a musical adventure. We had no idea what we were going to play or the type show we were performing on, but we took the plunge and went to Asia!

"When we got there, we found out we were part of the 'Nanning International Folk Festival,' the biggest music festival in China.
+
'We were brought in to perform some Chinese folk songs in English, with a Western flair. The show was a huge extravaganza (think Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremonies), with 1300 performers and the biggest stage any of us had ever seen, much less performed on!

"The entire show will be aired on nationwide Chinese television (CCTV3) on Sep 26th.

"We made friends with some very talented singers, dancers and musicians from Venezuela, Russia, France, Cuba, Burundi, Ivory Coast, Brazil and Kazakhstan. We met some amazing people, and had a great time!

"We'll be posting lots of photos of China soon."

“Bidder 70” centers on an extraordinary, ingenious and effective act of civil disobedience to demand government and industry accountability. In 2008, University of Utah economics student Tim DeChristopher committed an act which would redefine patriotism in our time, igniting a spirit of civil disobedience in the name of climate justice. As bidder #70, DeChristopher bid 1.8 million dollars and saved 22,000 acres of pristine wilderness.

With the threat of prison looming, DeChristopher stepped-up his activism and evolved into a charismatic and ingenious climate justice leader. He co-founded “Peaceful Uprising,” a grass-roots group dedicated to defending a livable future through empowering non-violent action. Bidder 70 follows Tim, from college student to incarcerated felon.
