Dave Stamey says, "Our friends Candy Moulton, Ken Cook and Paul Larson are putting together a benefit for our rancher friends in South Dakota who took such a hit in the recent blizzards. Thousands of cattle were killed, and paychecks for the next three or four years lost to these guys, so folks are assembling at the Lead, S.D. Opera House... to put on a concert."
Dave Stamey, who has won about every award and recognition in Western Music, says he has "been honored to be asked to come and perform."
"All proceeds will go to the ranchers, and we hope everybody will trundle out. It ain’t too far from Deadwood or Rapid City, there are airports you can fly into..." says Dave.

Every November for two decades, the Downtown Encinitas Main Street Association has played host to this premier street fair. Fairgoers enjoy a day where coastal breezes meet people gathering to shop, eat, be entertained and enjoy the community’s Historical district. The festival features over 450 vendor booths showcasing various arts, crafts, gifts, food and more. The 200 shops and 40 restaurants and eateries along the Coast Highway from D to J Streets are open for business. Live music happens at two venues -- The Lumberyard Courtyard Stage, located at The Lumberyard, and the Community Stage, close to F Street. Both stages feature the best in local entertainment.

Local musicians are all over this, because Steve & Polly Hoganson were the beloved owners of the late, great “Zoey’s,” the best Folk-Americana music venue in Ventura (and for many miles in every direction). Zoey’s suddenly closed last month.

Chris Loken (fiddle) began his study of music from a young age on both piano and violin, and found a love of Irish music through the band Evergreen, during his high school years. Chris can be heard around L.A. playing with The Brilliant Gypsies, Waking Kate, Speyside and The Ploughboys.

Aedan MacDonnell (harp, piano, accordion, vocals) is an award-winning harper, vocalist, dancer and multi-instrumentalist. She taught herself to read music and play piano at age 7, and went on to study classical piano. As a young adult, she found and fell in love with Celtic music and the harp. Aedan studied harp in Ireland with some of the most noted Irish harpers, as well as those from Scotland and Wales. She has appeared on radio, public television, and in music festivals. She also teaches harp and dance and performs with Speyside and The Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles. When she’s not teaching, playing or dancing, she helps people communicate with their animals. Peter Romano (guitar, vocals) is an innovator of Celtic music. Growing the music he first learned and loved in a small village pub in Ireland, he has become known for laying down fiery grooves on guitar to drive spirited melodies and delivering passionate vocals to meet the intensity of inspired lyrics. He regularly performs with his two bands, The Brilliant Gypsies and Waking Kate. When he’s not performing or putting together his next big show, Peter teaches individuals how to sing and play guitar, so they can share his love of music.
John Sommers (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, vocals) is a former Navy pilot, recently moved back to his hometown of Los Angeles from Aspen, Colorado, where he had been residing for the last 41 years and performing in the popular Defiance Stringband and The Crowlin’Ferlies. In the mid-’70s he was part of John Denver’s band, and in 1975 his song “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” was nominated for a Grammy.
