THE BIGGEST weekend of FESTIVAL season starts Thursday night. Damn near incomprehensible how sooooo much could be happening all at once, and no place else to find all of it in one place! Without the Guide, oh what would you do? But never fear, the Guide will be here with ALL of it, tomorrow, so you can start the countdown on your launch clocks!
.
RIGHT NOW, here’s all that’s happening TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 16…

Wed, May 16, in Santa Barbara:
6:30-9 pm THE HONEYSUCKLE POSSUMS (the all-girl band of REBECCA TROON, SUSAN MARIE REEVES, NICOLA GORDON, LISA MACKER, & RUTH ALPERT) at Adama, 428 Chapala St, Santa Barbara.
+
The Possums, an outstanding all-girl rootsy string band, tell us, “We will be playing at a fairly new and totally wonderful restaurant in town called Adama. It's all healthy-vegan and organic (I hope you can handle that!). The 'Songbirds' will play from 6:30 to 7:30 and then we will all play together after that until 9 pm (well, just 3/5s of the full Possums). There's no charge at the door, but tips are totally appreciated.” They add, “BTW, we're recording. Thanks for all your contributions for our up and coming CD that is slowly emerging.”
+
There will be individual sets tonight by “the core of the Possums,” Susan, Nicola and Rebecca, each singer-songwriters with her own solo career. They have all made CDs individually, and the Possums plan to release the group’s first CD in 2012. They get good media: "The Possums have hearts full of honey. These women clearly love what they're playing. This is true Americana... and they're mighty tight as well. If you could taste the sound, it would be clear country Honeydew Vinewater. Give them a listen! " Johnny Sacko, Santa Barbara.
