WHY WE’RE ON BLOGSPOT.COM: after a long presence on MySpace, that site suddenly changed parameters to accept only short posts, now requiring a ponderous and VERY time-consuming process to list events in small increments. It’s far too time-consuming. So we began posting the calendar and news on Blogspot. We’ll see how this works, and we welcome your feedback, at tiedtothetracks@hotmail.com .
.
FUTURE EVENTS are posted into 2009. We update often, and we add a BUNCH of concerts, festivals, club gigs, workshops, and recurring events as dates arrive.
.
LATEST NEWS FEATURES always post separately.
+
The most recent edition of our NEWS FEATURES posted AUGUST 16; check for it at http://acousticamericana.blogspot.com
+
The most recent previous edition of our NEWS FEATURES posted AUGUST 10 (http://acousticamericana.blogspot.com/2008/08/news-features-aug-10-edition-acoustic.html).
+
Recent editions of our NEWS FEATURES are all available on Blogspot at http://acousticamericana.blogspot.com; older archived editions are available on the myspace page (www.myspace.com/laacoustic), by using the “View All” button and scrolling, and if you don’t see what you want, then journey farther back by using the “older entries” button and scrolling, as many times as necessary. You can go all the way back to when acoustic music was made by trees crashing to the floor of the primeval forests when the dinosaurs got too rambunctious.
.
ANNIVERSARIES – things that happened in music, entertainment, and elsewhere in history – are on hiatus. Let us know if you miss them, and maybe that’ll prod us to start doing them again.
+
COMMUNICATE WITH US about that, and anything else related to the Acoustic Music Calendar & News, at tiedtothetracks@hotmail.com.

They are not related, yet their mother claims proudly that after each son attained success in his chosen field (doctor, lawyer, Indian chief, respectively), they each quit their jobs to pursue the more lucrative “folk singer” career. So please come with seatbelts fastened and enjoy a fun show!” Okay, so Bob was in full medicine-show-wagon mode. Still, Bob Stane highly recommends this show. These are solid performers, singers and songwriters who have each performed many times at The Coffee Gallery Backstage. A top show and a real financial bargain at $15.

+
"... Gary Allegretto shines bright on this soulful program of down-to-earth comfort... Allegretto sings with a natural storytelling appeal that’s easy to understand. His harmonica gives the program a zest that ensures magnetic forces. One listen and you’re under his spell. One listen and his audience is sold on pure blues with a message that comes from the heart." - Jim Santella, Southland Blues Magazine, Aug 2008.
+
And reviews of the new CD are raves:
"This is honest music crafted from inspiration, talent, and skills, delivered at a high level of accomplishment. I'm really impressed with the maturity, facility, and depth in Gary's harp playing. He could sure teach a lot of harp players about tone, phrasing, and getting the most expression out of a very expressive instrument. His songwriting, singing and arranging are very accomplished too. No wonder (Many Shades of Blue) is being well-received... Gary's music made me feel good, and that's a very attractive quality." - "Steady Rollin'" Bob Margolin, renowned bluesman and columnist
+
"A masterpiece... All killer no filler..." - John "Juke" Logan, Mocombo Records.
+
"Harmonica wrangler Gary Allegretto is one of the classiest acts in the music business today, working only with the best backup musicians and taking the time to craft music noted not only for its quality but for its authenticity... and what's best about his genuineness is its completely offhand quality. If someone complains to you that they don't make "real" blues records anymore - albums that sound like lost classics yet retain the freshness of an individual - play Many Shades of Blue for them..." - Robert Fontenot, Blues Revue Magazine, June/July 2008
+
Gary’s previous album scored a “Listener Favorite” on radio’s “Tied to the Tracks.”
