Wednesday Events, June 13, 2012, Acoustic Americana Music Guide

.

Wednesday may seem well ahead of the impossibly full weekend, but there’s so much happening that it warrants a quick edition of only things that are today / tonight. This edition covers ONLY events on Wednesday, June 13. Check back in a few hours a brand new complete edition, with all that’s happening in the acoustic and Americana scene waaaay into the future.
+
Seriously, remember to check-back, because FESTIVALS aplenty – perhaps more festivals than you knew existed in the world – are coming this weekend, and some start as early as Thursday. You’ll want to make plans! If you just can’t wait another minute, see the previous complete edition, published June 8, for the most comprehensive coverage yet published of all that. Or give us a few hours, and you’ll get a hugely updated edition, with a whoooole lot more descriptions and listings of concerts and upcoming festivals and workshops and assorted delights, through the summer and waaaay into the future.
+

+
ERNEST TROOST is Southern Cal’s resident Piedmont Blues expert, and a fine performing songwriter who won the song contest at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas.
+
AMELIA WHITE, an acclaimed Nashville singer-songwriter is touring her fifth studio album, “Beautiful and Wild.” Filled with tales of loss and hope, demons and saints, and the lure of star-crossed love, it is one of the most personal for White, as the title track was written for her longtime friend and famed songwriter, the late DUANE JARVIS.
+
White states, "The songs on Beautiful and Wild touch on everything from losing a close friend to an untimely death, to being lost and heartbroken on the road, and praying to the must to save your soul from darkness. The songs were written in that nether light between dark and dawn, when the ghosts watch you from the window." Don't miss the opportunity to visit with this singer-songwriter who has been described as a cross between "Lucinda Williams and Ryan Adams."
