"ROADSHOW REVIVAL" on July 1 -- things expand from Johnny Cash tributes to "A Celebration of American Roots Music" for its 9th annual run in Ventura, CA for 2017

.
.
Yep, you'll still find it very honky-tonky. That works just as well with things moving indoors, anyway. Here's the lowdown on the hoedown, from the Guide's "Encyclopedia Festivanica."

Jul 1, 2017:
9th annual "ROADSHOW REVIVAL" subtitled "A CELEBRATION OF AMERICAN ROOTS MUSIC," at Discovery Ventura, 1888 E Thompson Bl, Ventura CA 93001; www.discoveryventura.com/roadshow-revival
✔ TIX: $34-$95, online. Advance $38 gen adm or $46 including the Afterparty; Early Bird prices before May 31; VIP & Meet and Greet packages available.
✔ CAMPING: No. There are state beaches in the area that have camping.
✔ THE SCENE: It's an all-ages festival with 14 bands on two stages, plus an evening afterparty. Discovery is Ventura's favorite music venue, bringing the nation's best touring acts and local bands to the stage. This year's lineup is headlined by rock legends Los Lobos along with top-notch rockabilly, outlaw country, and Johnny Cash tribute bands, totaling fourteen bands in all. Official promo reads, "The indoor/outdoor event will be held at Discovery Ventura. Discovery Ventura is located in the midst of a neighborhood with adjacent houses. Because the event site plan includes the expansive lot behind Discovery, parking is located off-site, just down the street from the venue, at 125 Hartman Dr. Ventura, CA 93001. A free shuttle will be running throughout the day starting at 11:30AM through 8pm. The shuttle will pick-up in the lot and drop-off right in front of the festival gates. We highly encourage people to carpool, bike, Uber, cab or get dropped off. There will be an Uber dropoff/pickup zone right in front of the venue. There is also a bike station at the venue where you can secure your cycles – please ride carefully! Please do not block driveways, leave trash, etc. The City of Ventura has made it very clear that if the event negatively impacts the neighborhood we will not be able to do it again. Let’s work together to be sure we can do this EVERY year! A wide range of food options will be available from Discovery’s menu throughout the day and night. Food can be ordered from the tent outside or from inside the venue at the host stand. Alcohol available for 21 years or older only. We will have a number of games on-site including our 7 bowling lanes, multiple Cornhole sets, giant Jenga, foosball and more."
There will also be multiple exhibitors setup at the event." The main festival, "Roadshow Revival," runs 11:30 am-8 pm. The After-Party is 8 pm-1 am. This year, longtime festival producer Ross Emory coproduces with Discover Ventura.
