Note that some venues are duplicated, based on co-location of theaters at performing arts centers, multiple series using the same facilities, etc., and a few venues are known by different names for their restaurant and bar operations at the same place. Even if you deduct all those, AND deduct the big venues that host a wide variety of music (beyond acoustic and Americana), AND deduct the libraries, AND deduct the summer “concert-in-the-park” and other occasional music venues, there are still FAR MORE THAN 500 acoustic music-friendly venues, WITHOUT those multiple and occasional music venue listings. (Where are you, Big Media, to let the people know?)
