MUSIC for LABOR DAY: SPECIAL from THE ALTERNATE ROOT Sep 4 2016

.
.
Tons 'n tons of url's for music and music videos await you within. And the theme is appreciating the American worker on LABOR DAY.

ALL THE LIVE MUSIC AND EVENTS happening around Southern Cal for the weekend and waaay beyond are in the Guide's most recent full edition, published separately. It's right here on the site just ahead of THIS special edition. In that one, we told you how to catch ROSS ALTMAN'S Labor Day-themed show in Santa Monica. But that was on Sunday morning and it's already happened. SOOOO, we're delighted to bring you MORE musicality that's especially for and about LABOR DAY, thanks to the folks at "THE ALTERNATE ROOT." And you can take this tuneful treasure trove with you as mobile music, or listen (and in some cases listen & watch) at home, or 'purt near anywhere you find yourself.

One edition alone (okay, it's the biggest one) has THIRTY (that's 30) NEWS & REVIEWS features (we heard you say "Wow." You know you did). See the list with the url's for each; it's just before the end boilerplate stuff, right after the "ALTERNATE ROOT" Labor Day Special feature.

We remember when THE ALTERNATE ROOT, based in Palm Springs, was just getting started, and we helped publicize their start-up and initial live music events. These days? Weeeeell, they're doin' fine, and they just published a Labor Day Roots Music Special. We want to share it with you. It's obvious that a ton of work went into it. And with it, we're providing the info for how to subscribe to their online publication. 'Cause you can never have too much of a good thing. So here ya go. Happy Labor Day!

THE ALTERNATE ROOT CELEBRATES WORKERS AROUND THE WORLD

The first steps for a day to celebrate the Labor movement dates back to 1882. New York City was ground zero for the need to honor the women and men with filled the jobs that keep the lights on, the hweel oiled and the food on our tables. A day was dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers, initially celebrated with parades. A yearly date was put in place by President Grover Cleveland to thank the men and women whose contributions aided the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT, ALFIE?

Yeppers, by golly, bunches 'n bunches of music news and, gar-on-teed, some events you don't see in any other Roots-Folk-Americana music publication, print or cyber. And even in what looks like "old" editions above, there ARE some events that still have not happened yet and are only in our virtual pages.

For even MORE news that you might have missed about late summer & fall events -- during that ongoing marathon of excruciating partisan duopoly's lyin' speechifyin' -- or that might've gotten past you during the quadrennial compulsion with the Olympics -- you can explore the full scope of our site with the "search" function, up top (click "full web site" if your mobile device is oversimplifying things and leaving it out).

Or you can even use the "August" or "July" tabs in the sidebar (you may need to open that feature), and you'll get access to editions published before September 1, and as far back as when Napoleon was a private.

The Guide brings you frequent editions covering MUSIC NEWS, festivals, events (from concerts to film festivals) and ticket alerts, and always available right here on the Guide's Blogspot site.
