SUNDAY UPDATE; Weekend Highlights, January 7 & 8


3 pm matinee, Saturday, LOAFER'S GLORY at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena. The 7 pm show is sold out.

7 pm Saturday, STEPHANIE BETTMAN & LUKE HALPIN play a concert at the Neighborhood Church in Pasadena.

8 pm Saturday, DOUG MacLEOD plus LAWRENCE LEBO at McCabe's in Santa Monica.

SEVERIN BROWNE is throwing a CD release party Saturday night; contact him through his website for info.


Guitar wizard MURIEL ANDERSON plays the Coffee Gallery Backstage at 7 pm; 2029 N. Lake Ave, Altadena.

The annual multi-band ELVIS BIRTHDAY BASH is a musical extravaganza with more than 30 acts, at the Echo Plex, 1154 Glendale Bl, Echo Park. Headliner is ROSIE FLORES, plus there are performances by Rockabilly legend RAY CAMPI, MERLE JAGGER, LISA FINNEY, and many more, all putting their spin on covers of Elvis tunes, and no Elvis impersonators. Runs 4 pm to midnight, worth staying the whole evening or going for a couple hours. $20 admission goes to charity.

McCabe's has a good show at 7 pm with MARY McCASLIN & RICK SHEA.
