Last month, the L.A.-based event debuted at South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals.
Tonight, it returns to Hollywood. The evening celebrates women in media, music and the entertainment industry. "Monster Energy Women's Ultra Mixer" brings together women musicians, artists and creators in an intimate setting with other women who are key media and industry players in entertainment, music, film, TV, tech, lifestyle, fashion, health and sports. In addition to attendees in the media, entertainment, and music industry, there are women writers, editors, producers, agents, attorneys, promoters, managers, talent bookers, publicists, and more.
It's designed to offer "a unique opportunity for a small group to meet, share ideas, and network with other women working in entertainment."
Sponsors add, "The event is entirely inclusive and always free due to the generous support of Monster Energy Drink, thereby insuring that everyone from CEO's to women just starting out in their careers can connect with and help each other."
The monthly mixer attracts movers and shakers throughout the entertainment industry offering artists and others a unique opportunity to meet and share ideas with other women working at many levels in entertainment.
Sponsors say, "Many women have secured jobs and made lifelong connections at the monthly Los Angeles event. Attendees enjoy mocktails, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from St. Felix - Hollywood."
Guests will have the chance to win various prizes including complimentary travel packages and more.
Last month in Austin, the event honored Janet Pierson (Director of SXSW Film), Stacey Wilhelm (Senior Manager, SXSW Music Festival) and veteran music and entertainment journalist Lyndsey Parker, editor of YAHOO Music.
At that event, SXSW Music and Film attendees enjoyed a rousing acoustic set from the Swedish trio BASKERY, playing acoustic guitar, banjo, and standup bass.
The inclusion of live music performed by women musicians is an established part of each monthly event.
Valet and street parking are available.

♪ The ACOUSTIC AMERICANA MUSIC GUIDE endeavors to bring you NEWS — and views of interest to artists everywhere — more specifically to musicians and the creative community and music makers and fans of acoustic and Folk-Americana music. That includes both traditional and innovative forms. From the deepest roots to today’s acoustic renaissance, that’s our beat. We provide a wealth of resources, including a HUGE catalog of acoustic-friendly venues (now undergoing a major update), and inside info on FESTIVALS and select performances in Southern California in venues from the monumentally large to the intimately small and cozy. We cover workshops, conferences, and other events for artists and folks in the music industry, and all kinds o’ things in the world of acoustic and Americana and accessible classical music. From washtub bass to musical spoons to oboe to viola to banjo to squeezebox, from Djangostyle to new-fangled-old-time string band music, from sweet Cajun fiddle to bluegrass and pre-bluegrass Appalachian mountain music to all the swamp water roots of the blues and the bright lights of where the music is headed now.
