Festival season, as always, suddenly slows and seems like it all but ends as spring becomes summer, and many places just get too hot for Southern Californians who think it’s broiling if it hits 80 degrees.

> Annual “OBON FESTIVAL” with “world music & culture,” Sat & Sun at San Fernando Valley Buddhist Temple, and the

> Saturday & Sunday, July 28 & 29, is the 19th annual “LONG BEACH CRAWFISH FESTIVAL” with great Cajun / zydeco and blues music and the gotta-have-it crawfish-platter-with-admission-option that’s an absolutely outrageous amount of food.
> Friday-Sunday, August 17-19 is the 10th Annual “SUMMERGRASS SAN DIEGO BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL” in Vista.
