+
SALTY SUITES will be playing and singing their originals and classics in one long set for you, following JOHN WHYTOCK’s opening set. THE SALTY SUITES are CHUCK HAILES, CHELSEA WILLIAMS, & SCOTT GATES, returning to one of the venues that launched them, to play hard and sing sweet. Scott Gates is as close to a musical prodigy on the mandolin as you will ever meet and now plays guitar with the same fire and brilliance. Having performed all over the country and with artists as varied as John McEuen, Nathan McEuen, Kenny Loggins, Steve Martin and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a virtual who's who of the bluegrass world, Scott is writing music on his own and is bringing many of these tunes to you. Scott appeared last year on the Ellen Show with Steve Martin, recorded with Kenny Loggins on his soon-to-be-released CD.

Plus, JOHN WHYTOCK, who has been performing for nationwide and international audiences. His music has been heard on radio and television and he has performed regularly as a session musician and for crowds of over 20,000. In 2008, after a break to raise kids, he came back, picked up his guitar, and began penning new tunes. He opened his White Oak Recording Studio, released two CDs, and has produced CD's for numerous other artists. Though he can play in any genre, he prefers finger style guitar with a little classical thrown in the mix. His influences are varied and include: Beethoven, Bach, The Beatles, The Ventures, Andre Segovia, Chet Atkins, and Paul Simon, among others. His own repertoire defies classification and is as diverse as his experiences. John considers himself more a composer than a guitarist, though his eclectic offerings are both fun and intelligent. He delights in beautiful melodies, innovative chord progressions and clever lyrics. He takes a colorful journey through both time and place. More at www.johnwhytockmusic.com. Tix, $18.
