Rare recognition of songwriting and a multi-hit, multi-platinum songwriter in his own home town.
.
Saturday December 1, in San Diego, from 2-4 pm, enjoy "PEACEFUL EASY FEELING DAY," a celebration in San Diego OFFICIALLY PROCLAIMED by Mayor Jerry Sanders to honor the first EAGLES hit song and JACK TEMPCHIN, the man who wrote it. The celebration is at the place it was written, on the song’s official 40th anniversary.
+
It isn't often that songwriting is recognized, and even more rare when the role of time and place are included in any recognition. One mayor is fixing that for one songwriter today.
+
The Mayoral Proclamation recognizes legendary songwriter and longtime San Diego resident JACK TEMPCHIN and his multi-platinum hit “Peaceful Easy Feeling," released 40 years ago and made famous by the Eagles.
+
In honor of Tempchin writing the last verse of “Peaceful Easy Feeling” at the Hillcrest Wienerschnitzel 40 years ago, the proclamation presentation will take place at this very same Wienerschnitzel.
+
The celebration, organized by Night River Records, will include forty-cent Original Chili Dogs during the event.
+
Everyone is invited to this rare recognition of songwriting and a multi-hit, multi-platinum songwriter in his own home town. And we feel sure that Jack will perform those hits he wrote for the EAGLES. It's at Der Wienerschnitzel, on W Washington St, in San Diego's Hillcrest district.

I figure you didnt know in time to post so there was time to go. Good that Jack got the recognition!
Funny how these things are. Take Abbey Road or Sun Studios and everyone venerates them as places where hit songs were written. It is somehow fitting that a hit from a Calif band would come from a fast food place...
