I read this just in time to switch over to Ellen and see her introduce Kenny Chesney. Country is so much worse than I thought it had become. He did a song called Pirate Girl. It was rap with some droning electric guitars. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. Now Ellen is saying he is the biggest selling star in country music, playing stadiums with 85-100 THOUSAND people. I can just imagine them: baggy shorts and cowboy hats with rinestones. Who ARE these people? Where are Waylon and Willie and Buck and the Hag? Young bluegrassers follow the tradition and build on it. Why are these current country people even called country? What I just heard was rural rap. From the biggest seller in country music. That's my rant.
