BUS CRASH CANCELS WILLIE NELSON TOUR

Three members of Willie Nelson's band were injured after a bus they were riding in crashed at 3:30 am Saturday morning, DPS Trooper Syliva Jennings told KXAN-TV News’ Michael Aaron. The crash occurred in Cumby, Texas, and Willie Nelson was not on board.

Six people were aboard the bus -- five band members and the driver. Robert Paul English sustained a broken hip in the crash. Billy Jean English and Thomas Ray Hawkins both had minor injuries. All three were transported to Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

The bus hit a bridge pillar going westbound on Interstate 30, near mile marker 122. Officials said there is no serious damage to the bridge.

Texas Department of Public Safety said there were wet roads and high winds at the time of the crash. Nelson's Facebook page said icy conditions contributed to the accident.

His page states that this year's tour has been suspended indefinitely.
