+
The show features Tim Dismang, The Chad Watson Band featuring Pam Loe and Special Guest, Arnie Moore (Phoenix Concerts, Cannons in the Rain).
+
JOHN STEWART, former Kingston Trio member, released his first solo album, “California Bloodlines,” 45 years ago. Recorded in Nashville with the same musicians Dylan used on Nashville Skyline and produced by Nick Venet of Beach Boy fame, with minimal overdubs, it is today considered one of the cornerstones of Americana music with its blend of country, folk and rock. In the 1980’s it was voted by Rolling Stone to be one of the 200 best albums of the rock era. John Stewart died in 2008 after nearly 50 years as a prolific and significant singer-songwriter with classic albums including, Willard, Cannons in the Rain, The Phoenix Concerts and Bombs Away Dreams Babies with top 10 hits including, “Gold” and “Lost Her In The Sun”. During that time he saw the birth of a new genre of music he helped to found, Americana. This show will recreate songs from California Bloodlines the era that that followed. Tim is a prolific singer-songwriter and performer who was personal friends John Stewart. Stewart himself commented that Dismang did his songs justice in a way only he thought he could do. But, Tim doesn’t imitate as much as emulate and pay a passionate tribute to one of the great singer-songwriter of our time.
+
ARNIE MOORE is a veteran bass player who recorded and toured with John Stewart throughout the early to mid 70’s. He appears on classic albums like Lonesome Picker Rides Again and Cannons in the Rain. He is also on the John Stewart bestselling classic, The Phoenix Concerts. He will be sitting on bass for some of the key songs of John’s career.
+
THE CHAD WATSON BAND: Chad is one of Americana’s greatest musical treasures. A singing-songwriting bass playing gentleman with an eye toward making the finest music this side of the Colorado River. He currently plays bass with John York and Billy Darnell as The Jangle Brothers. He has toured and recorded with Janis Ian and Charlie Rich.
+
Pam Loe is one member of the country duo, Chad & Pam(her husband, Chad Watson is the other half), a fine country and folk vocalist who won Female Entertainer of the Year from the California Country Music Association 1990-1991.
+
Vern Monnett is one of the finest lead guitar players in the business. He has played and recorded with Freddy Fender, The Texas Tornadoes, Gary Allen and Wynn Stewart.
+
Chris Cooke has played drums for some of the best country rock musicians of the last 30 years. His credits include touring with Delaney Bramlett, Gary Allen and John York. He is also a writer, filmmaker and music producer.
+
Duane Thorin, a Coffee Gallery Backstage regular and outstanding singer songwriter will be making a very special appearance to perform a few of his own favorite Stewart songs.

Sat, Nov 29, in Pasadena:
7 pm JOHN ZIPPERER & FRIENDS, BARRETT TAGLARINO, RACHELLE RENESSE, and THE DAVE MORRISON BAND, play a “HOLIDAY SHOW” at Old Throop Hall, the social hall at Throop Church, 300 S Los Robles Av, Pasadena.
+
Dave Morrison tells us, “Our line-up starts with BARRETT TAGLARINO. you've seen Barrett playing lead-guitar and singing with John Zipperer and Friends, or maybe with Severin Browne's First Friday Band. Or maybe you've seen him with my band on occasion. He's just one of the very best musicians that our scene has to offer. But that ain't all. He's evolving so rapidly as a songwriter that it's beginning to scare a lot of us. Seriously ... he has a number of songs that I would VERY PROUDLY add to my set - if only I'd written them. As jealous as I am of Barrett's skills, I'm not so selfish as to deny you all the pleasure of hearing him do his thing. He'll be backed up by Jime Van Booven on bass, and possibly others.
+
“Playing in the position just before dinner, is a new discovery. RACHELLE RENESSE hails from Vancouver Canada. From a well-known musical family, she's a very fine musician, and just a terrific singer. she has a bunch of beautifully written songs, and plays and sings them with a finesse that belies her tender years. She also throws in a great cover now and then. She really must have been playing music ALL of her life. She plays mostly piano, but switches to guitar sometimes as well and has mastered other instruments, like Penny Whistle too. We're always excited to bring you new talent. We know that you will like her as much as she likes all of you.
+
“I will have my full band with me, and we will play the 'Digestion' set while you all are finishing your dinner and loosening your belts. I have THREE new songs written in this two-month period of disruption brought about by my exodus out of Thousand Oaks and into the land of Kagel. I'll try to get a couple of them into our set. Very happy to have new material.
+
“We will, of course, be putting on a feed for y'all. Probably stew this time, or something with a little Holiday vibe. AND LISTEN TO THIS: We are challenging all and any of you to bring Thanksgiving Left-overs to share. That's right, we will have a table set up for that. So haul along that half-mold of Jello, and the last of the yams, and the pumpkin pie that never got eaten. Anything that still looks edible. :0) We'll take care of it for you.”
+
Here’s a video of Rachelle with her Canadian band before she came to Los Angeles and started using her real last name. This is a rocker. She'll be in a more acoustic mode at Throop.

Sat, Nov 29, in Palmdale:
7 pm CHUCK ROBERTS, plus special opening act REVOLT WITH REASON, at Butlers Coffee, 40125 10th St West, Suite I, Palmdale (just N of Antelope Valley Mall, N of 14 Fwy.)
+
Kevin Burton Smith, “Butlers Coffee Music Guy,” says, “It's going to be a manly night of manly men playing manly music: the good, the bad and the peculiar, as Butler's Coffee, the little coffee house that could, rounds up some of favourite (un)usual suspects.”
+
He continues, “Now that the pursuit of higher knowledge has scattered REVOLT WITH REASON all over the country, it's hard to get Kevin, Tyler, Alex, Matt and Andy all in one place -- it's sort of like herding cats. But using secret information (Blackmail!) and just the right bait (Free coffee!), we've managed to corral this posse of indie rockers for one night and one night only. It's a rompin' stompin’ genre-hopping blend of rock, folk, blues, jazz and Church music that you may not get, but the little girls understand.
+
“And speaking of blackmail, we're pumped to be bringing back the one and only Chuck B. Roberts a veteran of the singer-songwriter wars who's got a few tales of his own to tell about slow blues, fast woman and cold beer. It's road-fried Americana writ large, served with a slice of wry on the side, full of rock'n'roll heart and jingle-jangle mornings. (Even big girls don’t understand Chuck…)”
